Forty years ago two men landed on the moon. I remember watching bits of it before heading off to school, on the News & in special programmes. I remember Apollos 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, maybe 14. I gather there were a few more, those I don't remember so well. Evidently getting another two men to the moon, even with lunar buggy etc, was considered to be not as interesting by programme schedulers. Or maybe I just had more homework?
There have been various commemorative events & programmes for a while now. So how about sending cheese into space? And back again. The Westcountry Cheesemakers' Group have made such an attempt.*
There now, the moon may not be made of green cheese, for all legends may recount it. Wonder whether Cheddar travels that well?
Y'all have a good day now!
*The Westcountry Cheesemakers also put a Cheddar cheese on a webcam for a year so that people could watch it mature. it takes all sorts.
